Comprehensive Hydrogeological Surveys

Welcome to Water Expert Hub, your trusted partner for hydrogeological survey services in Kenya. At Water Expert Hub, we understand that sustainable water solutions begin with a deep understanding of the local geology. Our hydrogeological surveys provide the foundation for reliable water sources, ensuring communities across Kenya have access to clean and sustainable water.

Before borehole drilling starts, a hydrogeological survey must be conducted to assess ground water and identify aquifer. From this data, a conclusion/choice about a suitable drilling point can be made, taking care of depth and drilling method applicable.

A hydrogeological survey report is then written and submitted to the client, and a copy given to a driller. This report is also submitted to Water Resources Authority (WRA) for obtaining a drilling permit.

Key technical reasons for conducting hydrogeological survey;

Aquifer identification - It helps identify and characterize the aquifers in the area, including their depth, thickness, and water-bearing capacity. This information is essential for choosing the appropriate drilling depth and designing the borehole.
Resource assessment - A hydrogeological survey helps assess the availability and sustainability of groundwater resources in a specific location. This information is crucial for determining if a borehole project is viable and can meet the intended water supply needs.
Optimal borehole design - The survey data aids us in designing the borehole to maximize its efficiency and yield. It helps determine the best location, depth, and casing design, reducing the likelihood of drilling dry or unproductive boreholes.
Water quality - A hydrogeological survey can provide information about the quality of the groundwater, including potential contaminants, salinity, and mineral content. This is vital to ensure that the water source is suitable for the intended use.
Sustainability - Understanding the aquifer's recharge rate and vulnerability to over-pumping is critical for long-term sustainability. A hydrogeological survey helps assess the balance between water extraction and natural replenishment.
